Travelling and arrival Day....

To all our blog followers, we are happy to be able to say that the day of departure has come so today we took our flight in Dusseldorf, Germany.

German and Belgian participants met at the checkin desk of Lufthansa in order to travel all together. First we took a flight to Frankfurt, which was a short flight. Once at Frankfurt airport, Julia joined us as well. So, all 8 of us were waiting to board the airplane to Narita. Yes, we flew with the airbus, one of the biggest planes flying around, and big it was!!!

We all could sit in one long row in the plane - next to eachother, and each of us had a seperate touchscreen in front of us on which we could select films, or music, or games....

From the plane, we had some wonderfull views...

The flight took 11 hours, which is long, but with all the entertainment available we had no time to get bored. At 07:35am local time we arrived at Narita airport (which is 00:35 am Belgium/ German time).

Not having slept in the airplane, we were all starting to feel tired, but we were told it was better not to sleep during the day in order to immediately get used to the rhytm of Japan time. And so we did, pffff, for one easier then the other, but we made it through the day.
Unfortunately Julia was not feeling so well, but once we could enter the hotelroom (from 13:00) she took a good rest and was feeling better afterwards.
All of us got to bed right after dinner as we were exhausted from the long travelling.

Here you can find some pictures of our first day:

No activities were planned during the "arrival day", which ment that we were a bit lost walking around the hotel. But thanks to the help of our Japanese chief, Takura-san the once among us could take a refreshing dive in the swimming pool.

So, the first day was a calm day... but we are now ready for some action....
